Multi-craft Training Solutions

In the industrial maintenance world of today, many reasons exist for getting employee’s training in more than one discipline.

  • Maintenance groups are smaller and leaner, often requiring individuals to be knowledgeable in a variety of industrial disciplines.
  • The overall approach to maintenance is changing with concepts such as predictive maintenance becoming especially important to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma outcomes.

Even if individuals within an organization don’t need certain skill sets, it often is beneficial that they have some knowledge in a variety of disciplines so that they can communicate critical information to others with more experience.

CFC-Solar can offer your organization a complete multi-craft training program by combining and customizing the individual courses that we offer. Programs can concentrate on core topics such as fluid power, electric, etc., or they can be broader in scope, forming the basis of an apprentice program that can be combined with company proprietary and machine specific training.

The first figure below illustrates one specific example where we created a program for a plastic injection molding company that was expanding and wanted to increase the knowledge of the current staff as well as have a program in place for new hires.

The second figure below represents a 400 hour multicraft program that included certifying personnel in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical maintenance.
